Asiatique announces Fall Bubbles Brunch [Food & Dining]

As a bartender, I will admit to some pretension when it comes to the world of drink: a martini means gin, not vodka, you do not put top-shelf bourbon into Coke, and that bottle of California Korbel Brut is not Champagne. There is a whole world of sparkling wines that here in our country, unfortunately, all gets lumped under the name “Champagne.” Champagne is, of course, sparkling wine from the Champagne region of France, and it is vastly different from Prosecco (an Italian variety of sparkling wine), which differs from your California sparkling wines.

Asiatique is hosting an exploration of sparkling wines and food pairings with the Fall Bubbles Brunch this Sunday, the 16th. The brunch consists of four courses, each of which is expertly paired with a sparkling wine to achieve perfect synergy:

“This four course tribute to champagne and sparkling wines begins with a squash soup - roasted butternut squash + yellow curry soup with roasted duck breast paired with Lamarca Prosecco. A second course of citrus and crawfish salad - citrus and pepper marinated crawfish tail with bean medley and coconut vinaigrette paired with Jean-Louis Blanc de Blancs. The third course will be roasted quail - roasted chorizo stuffed quail with yellow corn risotto, apple cider + caraway reduction paired with Veuve Du Vernay Brut Rose. The fourth course of pumpkin panna cotta - Chinese 5 spice pumpkin panocotta with ginger bread and Mandarin orange reduction paired with Beni Di Batasiolo Bosc DLa Rei Moscato.”

All this is available for the incredibly reasonable price of $35 per person, plus tax and gratuity. There are three seating times: 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. They expect this event to be sold out, so make your reservations soon by calling (502) 451-2794.
