Betting system experiences short outage at Churchill Downs [Kentucky Derby]
On a huge day for racing at Churchill Downs, the tote system experienced a short outage. After a similar issue delayed the race results here yesterday, today's outage lasted about twenty minutes.
Soon after posting the results of the Grade 2 La Troienne Stakes and just as bettors were ready to cash their tickets, the wagering system locked up. Bettors were mulling around the wagering windows as the tellers stared at their screens waiting for an update.
The problem has caused a fifteen-minute delay to the remaining of today's card. The post time for the Kentucky Oaks has now been pushed back to 6:00 PM.
