A Bright New Boise is a comedy/drama that features the repairing of a father/son relationship as the supposed end of the world nears. The father, a former minister, now works at a big box retailer with his estranged son. As the two get closer, the father must decide between his beliefs and his relationship with his son. At the same time, employees learn of the father's troubled past.
A Bright New Boise is making its Louisville debut and features the cast of Megan Brown, Ally Giesting, Ben Geirhart, Corey Music, and Doug Schutte. Schutte also directed the play, which Samuel D. Hunter created.
The play has had previous success, gaining numerous nominations and an OBIE Award in 2011.
Following Boise, The Bard's Town will present the return of the Ten-Tucky Festival of Ten Minute Plays. The festival will go on in September. More information on The Bard's Town's season can be found in this article.
