A love triangle can be like a chess match sometimes.  Hence the Encore Theater Company's production of Chess, which opens at Kentucky Center this weekend.

Chess performances will go on June 2, 3, and 4 at 7:30 p.m.  All shows are to take place in the MeX Theater at Kentucky Center for the Arts, located in downtown Louisville at 501 West Main Street.

Tickets for the 2.5 hour show are $20 per person and can be purchased at the Kentucky Center box office, the Kentucky Center website, or by calling the box office at 1-800-775-7777.  More information on Chess can also be found at the Kentucky Center website.

Chess features a love triangle of international preportions as an American and Russian face each other in a chess championship match.  The manager of one of the players falls in love with his competitor, leading to complications in the Cold War era.

Tim Rice created the lyrics while Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, of ABBA fame, created the music.  Chess is a production suitable for all ages.
