Day 14 World Equestrian Games preview [Sports]
There are 15 days of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, and in addition to the equestrian competitions there are activities, entertainment opportunities and attractions. Louisville.com will be identifying the best of what the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games identifies as the Daily Must-Sees. To enjoy these non-competition activities you can get a Grounds Pass for $25 each day. Grounds Pass tickets allow entry to the games for the selected day of purchase but they do not grant access to competition venues or competition venue seating. You will need to purchase separate tickets for these events. And please verify the latest starting times at alltechfeigames.com.
Day 14, Oct. 8: With just three days left in the World Equestrian Games, day 14 is packed with ticketed events. In the morning and then again in the afternoon the para-dressage world championship will continue with the individual freestyle tests at the Covered Arena and driving dressage will begin at the Driving Stadium. In the afternoon the vaulting team freestyle competition will begin at the Indoor Arena and the jumping world championship will continue with round one and two of the individual competition at the Outdoor Stadium.
For those with general admission tickets I recommend the field sport demonstrations at the North Arena, including the U.S. Mounted Games Association at 12:30 p.m. and Polocrosse at 4:30 p.m.
Also, it was announced on Thursday that free closing ceremony tickets for the World Equestrian Games are being offered to Kentucky National Guard service and family members, retirees, and DMA federal and state employees. These tickets will provide general access all day and to the closing ceremony. Tickets may be picked up on a first-come, first-served basis; telephone or e-mail reservations, or mailing of tickets is not permitted. Tickets may be picked up from SPC Joshua Kemp, located on Boone National Guard Center, J1 Building, 100 Minuteman Pkwy, Frankfort, KY 40601. Tickets will be available for pick-up beginning Thursday at noon. There is a 10 per family limit.
