Want to learn how to prepare healthy food in your own kitchen? Willing to give raw and minimally cooked vegetarian cuisine a try but not sure where to start? Interested in low-mileage, high-octane fuel that sustains both the environment and your body? Join Chef Peter Klarman, who will lead “Cookin’ It Up with Chef Peter” at Gilda’s Club Wednesday evening, February 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
“Food choices we make each day greatly impact our well-being,” Chef Peter says. “The body is an incredible machine, and it is essential to give it the best fuel possible to live each day with abundance and share that with others.” Chef Peter, who also goes by “Chef of the Future,” is a food researcher and wellness coach who creates good food everyone can feel good about. Although the menu has not yet been determined, it is certain to feature local and organic produce, and the class focused on eating for overall well-being of the self and the planet.
Gilda’s Club was named in honor of the late “Saturday Night Live” actress and comic Gilda Radner, who faced her own ovarian cancer with humor and camaraderie. According to the organization, “Our innovative program is an essential complement to medical care, providing networking and support groups, workshops, education and social activities.” Anyone whose life has been touched by cancer—men, women, teens, children, family and friends—can be a member; nonmembers, too, are welcome at this cooking class. All programs at Gilda’s Club are free, with plans for monthly cooking classes and demonstrations throughout the year.
