One Screening Only: the Tribeca Darling & Nationwide Grassroots Hit, and the One-Woman Studio behind it all!
For more information, see and CAST & SYNOPSIS A cross between Working Girl and The Wedding Banquet, Falling for Grace features a vibrant ensemble cast that includes: Gale Harold (Queer As Folk, Desperate Housewives), Fay Ann Lee (Miss Saigon, Christine Baranski (Mamma Mia!), Ken Leung (Lost), Roger Rees (Frida), and famed comedians Lewis Black and Margaret Cho. Grace Tang is an ambitious Wall St banker from NY Chinatown, who aspires to join the elite social circles of the Upper East Side. But at her first high-end soiree, she is mistaken as an heiress from Hong Kong - and introduced to the city's most eligible bachelor. Their meeting sets Grace on a whirlwind ride of romance and white lies, revealing the greed of Wall Street and the human side of Chinatown. Through humor, romance, heartbreak, and forgiveness, Grace ultimately learns to accept herself for who she is. ABOUT FALLING FOR GRACE Falling for Grace premiered at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival, and was an immediate sold-out hit. Hollywood distributors, however, did not believe that a mainstream American audience was ready for a romantic comedy starring an Asian American heroine. But the word of mouth was so good, exhibitors in other cities started requesting the film. By simply obliging theater owners' invitations, writer/director/star Fay Ann Lee has independently released her movie in 15 different cities across the country and the world. Falling for Grace has opened at number 1 in the last 4 out of 5 theaters that have shown it. Exhibitor invitations continue to flow in from around the world, as theater owners discover the Falling for Grace phenomenon and want to share it with their own communities. Due to the remarkable and unique success of her film - and the incredible odds she overcame to make and distribute it - Lee has become a much sought-after speaker. She has been asked to share her story with local and national media, women's organizations and schools across the world. Last December, Lee screened the film and spoke at Harvard, which led to an invitation to act as an official Harvard Guest Speaker at the 2009 Summit for Young Leaders in China.
