Feeling Brave at Walden Theatre [Theater]

Summer Brave


Love, expectations, and dreams collide in a small town in Summer Brave, which Walden Theatre will present beginning Thursday.

Summer Brave performances will happen on Sept. 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, and 22 at 7:30 p.m. each night.  Matinees are to take place on Sept. 15 and 22 at 2 p.m. each day.  All performances will happen on the Nancy Niles Sexton stage at Walden Theatre, located at 1123 Payne Street in the Highlands area of Louisville.
Tickets for the evening shows are $15 per adult, $10 for students, and $10 for seniors.  Matinee prices, meanwhile, are $10 for adults, $8 for students, and $8 for seniors.  Tickets can be purchased by calling Walden Theatre at 502-589-0084.  More information on the show can be found at the Walden Theatre website.
In Summer Brave, the attractive former football player Hal Carter , who is the subject of gossip among the others in a small town in 1950s Kansas.  Hal has a yearning for a life that is rapidly passing him by.  Meanwhile, two teenage sisters, Madge and Millie, become attracted to Hal, who in return has changed their courses and expectations.
William Inge created Summer Brave, which is a revision of Picnic, a Pulitzer Prize winning production.  Charlie Sexton directed the production.  
Following Summer Brave, Walden Theatre will present The Oresteia.  That show will premiere in October.
