First annual Oldham County Farm Tour to highlight the scenic rural character and beautiful horse farms along Kentucky’s U.S. 42 Corridor [Equine]
On Sunday, May 27, from 10 am to 5 pm visitors can tour beautiful horse farms that dot the U.S. 42 Corridor in Oldham County. Free parking will be available at Alta Vista Farm located at 2114 Liberty Lane, Goshen, KY or Madison Lane Farm located at 9001 Mason Lane, Goshen, KY, where visitors can hop on shuttles that take you between farms during the hours of 9:30 am to 5 pm. This tour includes four farm locations as well as scenic views of other farms along the route. Farms included in the tour are:
*Alta Vista Farm - 45 acre horse farm featuring jumping, dressage, indoor and round pen live demonstrations.
* Flying Cross Farm - Take a hayride around a cross country course with horses and watch horses and riders navigate through obstacles such as a water complex, sunken road, coffin complex, broken bridges, and many more fences.
*Hermitage Farm - 700 acre thoroughbred horse farm featuring a world-class training center and boarding operation. Home of the Annual Hermitage Driving Classic. Enjoy a boxed lunch while learning about the Thoroughbred Racing Industry and “Meet the Jockey”.
*Mason Lane Farm - 2000 acre farm featuring an award winning LEED Certified Farm Operations Facility including a bamboo barn.
Ticket prices for the above tour are $50 for adults and $10 for children under 12. This includes a boxed lunch. Dinner option is available below.
An optional add-on includes dinner at Ashbourne Farm where dinner begins at 6:30 pm with the freshest farm foods in the area being served. Listen to live entertainment while you dine. Tickets for this extra option are $75 per person. There is limited seating for this option.
Also available is a weekend bed & breakfast getaway package at the luxurious Bluegrass Country Estate Equine B & B in LaGrange for May 26 and 27.
