Umphrey's McGee, which Wikipedia describes as "an American progressive rock jam band" (are any rock jam bands regressive?), will bring its Midwestern groves to the Forecastle Festival's West Stage at 2:15 p.m. July 10.

Formed at the University of Notre Dame in 1997 the now six-man band has released 11 albums, the most recent of which was 2009's "Mantis." Its influences include King Crimson, Yes, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Frank Zappa, and Genesis, Iron Maiden, The Police, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin.
