What do you have planned for this Sunday? Would you like to learn more about using herbs in the kitchen? Well, come out to the Cooking with Herbs Workshop!
At 2 PM this Sunday, August 19th, there will be an herb workshop on the riverside at the Farnsley-Moremen Landing. Cooks of all skill levels are welcome, but this is NOT a cooking class – it’s a tutorial on how to use herbs. This would be a great way to introduce older children into the kitchen and help them learn about healthier and more flavorful eating!
Lessons from their resident expert, Nola Lillie, will include:
+ Identifying, cutting, and preparing herbs from the historical garden.
+ Discovering the best herbs to grow in Kentucky.
+ Learning about simple ways to use herbs.
+ Making a mix of dried herbs to take home.
+ Learning about how to preserve fresh herbs.
+ Making herbal vinegars, salad dressings, herbal teas, and more!
+ Did I mention there will be herbs?! :)
Riverside, the Farnsley-Moremen Landing is a 300-acre historic site where many events and activities are held year-round, including archaeological excavations, as well as tours of the reconstructed kitchen and of the historical garden that still produces the same vegetables and herbs as it always has since the 1800s!
Tickets are only $5 per person!
