Improv without the political correctness and with the DVD extras

Improvapalooza 13

Louisville Improvisors and Groundlings present the all-black version of a movie along with DVD extras during Improvapalooza 13, which occurs Saturday.

Here's how it will work: Audience members will provide the title of a movie.  Then, a group of all-black actors will create the black version.  The show comes loaded with "DVD extras", which, this being an improv festival, could really mean anything.  Don't expect it to be politically correct.  Definitely expect it to be very funny.

Improvapalooza will happen on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 8 p.m. in the Bomhard Theater at the Kentucky Center for the Arts.  The facility is located at 501 West Main Street in downtown Louisville.

Tickets for the show are $26.75 per person.  Discounts for seniors and students are available.  All tickets can be purchased at the Kentucky Center website, the Kentucky Center box office, or by calling the box office at 1-800-775-7777.

Among the Improvalooza 13 participants will be members of The Black Version, an LA-based improv group related to Groundlings.  Members to be performing include: Jordan Black, Daniele Gaither, Jerry Minor, Gary Anthony Williams, and Cedric Yarbrough.  Members of the Louisville Improvisors will also take part in the performance.
