It's Comedy Tonight! (beginning Thursday) [theater]

The weather's still gray and raining...Tax Day is looming...you haven't worn flip flops in months...and if the kids (and let's face it, your husband) don't turn off those darn video games, you're going to explode.

Well, cheer up. Because just like the crocuses in your lawn, comedians are popping up all over.

Thursday's the night for comedy in Louisville. Project Improv, Louisville's Long-Form improv troupe, is opening at the Alley Theatre for Louisville's Short-Form improv troupe, Damaged Goods. The show starts at 7:00, and tickets are $10.00 (buy one get one FREE) at the door.

If improv isn't your thing, head on down to the Louisville Improv where, contrary to what the name implies, you won't find an improv group. You will find comedian John Caparulo, performing  nightly Thursday through Sunday. Caparulo has appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Comedy Central, and E!'s hit show Chelsea Lately.  Tickets are $20.00, and Thursday's show is at 8:00.

And don't forget Comedy Caravan...you know, that place you used to go before Fourth Street Live! came around? They're hosting the Louisville Comedy Underground this Thursday.  This show shines the spotlight on some bright local talent. Tickets are $8.00, and the curtain rises at 9:30.

Mid-Week Outings not your style?

Project Improv performs FREE at the Bard's Town on Saturday at 9:00.

Brad Tassell with Jacob Williams will be at Comedy Caravan Friday and Saturday.

John Caparulo is onstage at the Improv through Sunday (times vary).

And you might be able to catch a re-run of Two and a Half Men.
