Singing sensation Jenny Lind came to Louisville and Madison, IN, in 1851 during a tour of America on P.T. Barnum's invitation.  The soprano's trip to Louisville featured being met by thousands of performances, an extra show added, and the adoration by an entire town.  Later, Lind later performed in Madison, where the city turned a pork house into a concert space for the show.

Shelbyville resident Mike Smith created When Jenny Lind Came to Town, and Bill Breuer directed the show.  Betsy Archer performs as Jenny Lind.

More information on the show can be found at the Jenny Liind Play website.
