Victoria's Wildcat wins the Grade 3 Eight Belles Stakes over Home Sweet Aspen and Honey Chile. The win makes the second stakes win in a row today for jockey Kent Desormeaux, who won the Edgewood aboard Diva Ash.

Victoria's Wildcat, whose morning line was 12-1, had been bet down to 6-1 by post time. The deep closer, angled between horses to catch the leaders, Home Sweet Aspen and Honey Chile as they were nearing the wire.

Jockey Kent Desormeaux said of the ride, "The first 100 yards out of the gate I got hazed. She was having trouble switching her leads and she fell back behind them. But she got it going and in the end it unfolded just like I'd hoped."

Victoria's Wildcat returned $15.20, $6.20, and $4.40. In second place, Home Sweet Aspen returned $6.00 and $4.80. Honey Chile, in third paid $6.60. Angelica Zapata finished fourth.
