40 Reasons to Adopt! is the theme for Louisville Metro Animal Services for this year’s St. Patrick’s Parade held tomorrow, Saturday, March 9. They will have adoptable dogs marching in the parade. If you want to join them with a pet you adopted from Metro Animal Services there are a few things to consider. Your pet must be able to handle all the commotion of a big parade crowd and other dogs they do not know. You must have them secured and under your control at all times. Volunteers are also needed to pass out fliers and other duties besides walking dogs.

Meet up place for Metro Animal Services volunteers for the parade will be at the corner of Broadway and Barret Avenue. You probably will want someone to drop you off as parking is hard to find. Look for the Metro Animal Services Animal Control Truck and dogs. Volunteers will need to be at Metro Animal Service’s station and lined up for the parade at 2 pm so meet up at 1:30 pm to 2 pm. The parade begins around 3 pm. The parade ends at Mid City Mall at Windsor Place so you will need to have someone to pick you up or have a vehicle there after the parade.

For more information on marching in the Parade with your adopted dog or volunteering to pass out fliers or other duties along the parade route contact Louisville Metro Animal Services at: 502-473-PETS (7387), or by email: Petfinder@louisvilleky.gov.
