Much Ado About a modern take at U of L

Much Ado About Nothing

The U of L theatre arts department will performed an updated take on Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing beginning on Wednesday.
Much Ado About Nothing will take place Nov. l4-18 at 8 p.m. each night.  A matinee is also scheduled for Nov. 18 at 3 p.m.  All performances are to happen at the Thrust Theatre on U of L's campus, located at 2314 S. Floyd Street (same intersection as the McDonalds).
Tickets for each show are $15 for adults, $10 for students, and $10 for senior citizens.  All tickets can be purchased at the door or by contacting the U of L box office at 502-852-6814.  More information on Much Ado About Nothing can be found at the U of L theatre arts website.
Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare's most enduring comedies, dealing with issues of love, trickery, and plenty of bickering.  U of L will present a different take on the traditional tale, however.  While the setting is still Italy, its updated to the modern era.
James R. Tompkins directed the production, which features Jake Beamer as Benedick and Jocelyn Matsuo as Beatrice.
Following Much Ado About Nothing, U of L theatre arts will present Once on This Island.  That show will open in January at The Playhouse.
