The Fox television show "X-Factor" has a familiar looking face as one of its judges now.
Nicole Scherzinger, a former resident of Louisville, had been slated to be the show's host, but a last minute change by Simon Cowell thrust her into the role of judge.
Model Cheryl Cole was supposed to be on the panel of the show's judges. But two weeks ago, Simon Cowell, the creator of "X-Factor", removed her from the panel and so far neither Cole or Cowell has commented on the reasons leading up to the abrupt change.
Fox Producers say that Steve Jones will now be the show's sole host.
Scherzinger attended the Youth Performing Arts School at DuPont Manual High School. Scherzinger was also a successful model, modeling with Louisville-based MJK Productions among others.
Chris Kaufman was MJK's Chief Photographer in charge of Production and Talent when Nicole was still in Louisville. Kaufman also worked quite a bit with Louisville's Jennifer Lawrence, who was just recently nominated for an Academy Award.
Kaufman says that Scherzinger was very modest despite her amazing talents.
Kaufman said, "I often tell the story of how coy Nicole was. She would come into the agency and I'd be in my office and you'd hear this perfect and I mean PERFECT version of Whitney Houston's 'I will always Love you', and I'd walk out and be like DAMN!, and Nicole would always be patting her chest like she had overstretched herself, and how awful it was - and one just had to know that she knew, I mean, SHE KNEW she'd nailed it, but was always very modest about her talents."
