Not your usual Shakespeare production [Theater]

Shakespeare in a way William himself didn't see coming.  Little Colonel Playhouse will present The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged beginning tonight.

The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged will take place on March 10, 11, 12, 18 and 19 at 8 p.m. each night.  Matinee shows, meanwhile, will go on March 13 and 20 at 2:30 p.m. each day.  All performances will occur at Little Colonel Playhouse, located at 302 Mt. Mercy Drive in Pewee Valley, KY.

Tickets for each show are $15 for adults, $12 for students, and $12 for senior citizens.  Tickets can be purchased at the door or can be reserved by calling 502-588-1557.  More information on the show can be found at the Little Colonel Playhouse website.
The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged is essentially a sped-up romp, with three actors moving through all 37 of Shakespeare's plays in a little more than 90 minutes.  During that time, parody is high, audience interaction is definite, and other surprises are to be had.
Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield created The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged, and Angela Miller directed the production.
Following Shakespeare Abridged, Little Colonel Playhouse will present Social Security.  Auditions will be March 13 and 14, and the show itself will be performed in May.
