Pete Kyle, riding a A Ruf Gal, wins the Ariat Kentucky Reining Cup Championship

Reiner Pete Kyle and his horse, A Ruf Gal, got the crowd of 5000 clapping as they performed their freestyle to Three Dog Night's Joy to the World at the Ariat Kentucky Reining Cup Championship Freestyle held Saturday night, April 28, at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. They won the event with a score of 227.5.

Coming in second in the event was 2011 Champion, Shane Brown, riding Houston Shine. His score was only one point behind Kyle's at 226.5.

The third place finisher was the youngest competitor in the event, Laura Sumrall, who rode Einsteins Fancy Pine. Her score was 224.5.

For Rolex fans celebrity Eventers Karen O'Connor and Gina Miles both competed in the World Champion Freestyles.

The Ariat Kentucky Reining Cup Championship Freestyle event has competitors riding their horses with custom choreography to music, and wearing costumes. This event is always a big crowd pleaser and this year was no exception.
