If you haven’t seen or heard Devil Makes Three yet – then you’re already a decade behind on these guys. DM3 is a band from Santa Cruz, California that has been playing Americana music together since 2002, long before what they do was a viable marketing plan, and way before you ever heard of “Ameicana” artists like Mumford & Sons or The Lumineers.
The California three piece features two guitar players (one is also a part-time banjo picker), and an upright bassist – and together they make some the fiercest music in the country. All of which is influenced by our country’s various home grown genres, from bluegrass to blues, from ragtime to rock-a-billy, from folk to jazz, and everywhere in between. It’s the best of the rich musical history our country has to offer, all bundled into one great little band of Devils.
Devil Makes Three will be performing Saturday, April 26th, at Mercury Ballroom; 9 PM, tickets are $22.50. Joe Fletcher & The Wrong Reasons will also be playing.
