Providing Children an Unforgettable Experience

Harold Mitchell, the renowned Junk Genius, has built a partnership with local small business, QiQi’s Children’s Parties, to provide children an unforgettable experience.

“I teach kids how to take toys apart, but most importantly they learn how to put them back together,” explains Mitchell.  For this reason, he has teamed up with Cheri Smith, the owner of QiQi’s Children’s Parties to give children the ability to build robots from recycled materials and make birthday memories to last a lifetime.

Harold Mitchell has been building robots since childhood and was recently invited to appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.  “At first I thought it was a joke!” explains Mitchell, and although he ended up not appearing on Leno he was honored at the invitation.

Whether it is a robot that can dial your cell phone or a pancake box turned into a toy, children and parents alike can take part in the creations at QiQi’s Children’s Parties.  The business resides in a beautiful two story Tudor house in the heart of Jeffersontown, and opened on November 21, 2008.  “Making memories with your child will last longer than any material gift a child will receive for their birthday, especially a hand-crafted robot,” explains owner, Cheri Smith.

QiQi’s parties are one of kind, which is why Smith chose to work with Mitchell.  Other special parties include the Bug Party which involves real insects for kids to investigate and even a sample of a real insect as a food source, and the Glamour Party which includes 109 fancy dresses with a runway with mirrors & music.
