Randomness from the Kentucky State Fair [Kentucky State Fair]

It's been a year or so since I've actually been to the fair, but I'm stoked about hitting it up this summer.  It used to be a much different beast when I was younger, the reasons I went were complete opposite ones of the reasons I want to go now, the crew I ran with then was a much different one, and in those days our only objectives were getting drunk, getting in fights, and getting laid.  Much has changed since then.  Now, the crew of guys I run with are much more reserved, and we only go to the fair for two of those three previous reasons.  We go to get drunk and laid.

I can remember trying to save a few dollars when I was younger, so we would hide under blankets in the back seat, or stuff a couple of people in the trunk while making our entrance into the front gates.  I don't miss those days.  I also don't miss rolling twenty-deep while mobbing thru the midway with a gang of teenage, testosterone charged numbskulls all trying to pick up random girls from other high schools.  If you normally don't get ass in your own school, odds are you probably won't be getting any outside of it either, especially when you approach a woman like, "I heard there's a party at your ankles girl, why don't you invite your pants down."

But after all people, this is Kentucky.  You're bound to see some rowdy redneck action going down, as well as come across the sight of men rocking mullets and sleeveless shirts, women with summer teeth (meaning, some are here, some are there, but most are missing) and homemade daisy dukes, as well as your fair share of high school kids trying to get drunk, fight, and laid.  There is both something wrong with that, and something that's not so wrong with that.  Though I'm educated and would like to think I'm not a complete and total redneck douche bag, there's a little part of me that enjoys watching a good bar brawl, seeing a domestic dispute get broke up with physical force by the police, as well as occasionally empathize with an enthusiastic white trash fellow that continually yells out, "WOOO!"  Oh, how I love The Kentucky State Fair.  Be sure not to miss out on all of this randomness.  Today is your last day to buy tickets in advance. Below is a link to their website where you can buy tickets.

Born and raised locally here in the Germantown neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. I have lived and frequented in both the Highlands and Germantown areas for the past ten years while completing my undergraduate work in communication, and graduate work in business communication from Spalding University. After the completion of both of these degrees, the most recent during the summer of 2007, I began working as a sales consultant for a large telecommunications company, as well as for a few local colleges. In 2008 I self-published my first book, "Always Coming Back," and my second late summer 2009, entitled "Bent."
