Previously trapped in a tower with her long, golden hair, Rapunzel will step onto the Derby Dinner Playhouse stage for the first time this Saturday.

Rapunzel performances will go on May 19, 25, June 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 at the Derby Dinner Playhouse, located at 525 Marriott Ave. in Clarksville, IN.  Shows will take place at 9 a.m. (buffet beginning at 9 a.m.) and at 1:15 p.m. (buffet beginning at 12 p.m.).

Tickets for each breakfast show are $16 per person, and lunch shows are $21 per person.  All tickets can be purchased at the Derby Dinner Playhouse website, at the box office, or by calling the box office at 812-288-8281.  More information on the show can also be found at the Derby Dinner Playhouse website.

Locked away for nearly her entire childhood, Rapunzel lives in Dame Gothel's tower mostly unaware of the outside world.  She becomes a smart, charming young lady with really, really long golden hair.  Meanwhile, her parents search for her after losing Rapunzel when she was young.  Prince Aidan and his sidekick Charlie, however, have already found the tower where Rapunzel resides.

Being that this is a fairy tale, everyone will live happily ever after...right?

Lauren McCombs stars as Rapunzel, Eric Hoffman performs as Prince Aidan, Annette McCulloch is Dame Gothel, Bill Hanna is Charlie, David Myers is the father, and Sandra Rivera is the mother.  Matt Wallace directed the fairy tale, which is based on the Brothers Grimm story.  Matt and Tina Jo Wallace created the Derby Dinner Playhouse version of the story.  Scott Bradley provided musical direction.

During Rapunzel's run, Derby DInner Playhouse is also presenting The Dixie Swim Club.  More information on that show can be found in this article.  Meanwhile, the next children's theatre production will be Captain Louie, which opens in October.
