A new invention sets the stage for love and intimacy during In the Next Room or Vibrator Play, which opens tomorrow at Actors Theatre.

In the Next Room or Vibrator Play performances will take place every day except Mondays from Jan. 24-Feb. 18 at various times.  All performances will go on in the Pamela Brown Auditorium at Actors Theatre, located at 316 West Main Street in downtown Louisville.

Tickets for each show range from $25 to $59, depending on the day and time.  All tickets can be purchased at the Actors Theatre box office, the Actors Theatre website, or by calling Actors Theatre at 502-584-1205.  More information on the show can also be found at the Actors Theatre website.

Marriage and intimacy themes are given a lighthearted look in In the Next Room or the Vibrator Play.  The production deals with a 19th century doctor creating a treatment for what is believed to be hysteria.  The doctor's wife overhears the impressed patients' comments, and she becomes aroused to the idea of discovering her own feelings.

Sarah Ruhl created In the Next Room, and Laura Gordon directed the production.

During In the Next Room or Vibrator Play's run, Actors Theatre will also present The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity.  That show will run until Feb. 4.
