Waterfront Fashion Week kicked off with its opening gala on Wednesday, October 17 at Waterfront Park. The modern decor made it feel as if it was in Chicago or New York. There was a band, hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
The attendees took different approaches in their attire. It was clear, style is transitioning from summer to fall, out with the sandals and in with the boots. Dresses differed in styles, from hi-lo, to formal and shirt dresses. Black and white were popular colors on the attendees, in addition to those who wore pink to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Patterns were in, attendees wore polka dots and stripes.
Host, Miss World 2010 and Shepherdsville native, Alexandria Mills was the emcee. She introduced all of the designers, local, national and emerging. Her dress was by Heather French Henry and hair was done by Hot Locks Salon and Spa.
