This year will mark the eleventh year of North America’s largest and longest running Beatles tribute festival – Abbey Road on the River. More than 60 bands will return to Louisville during the signature Memorial Day Weekend event, bringing five days of peace, love and rock-n-roll to the Belvedere and Galt House Hotel & Suites from May 24th to May 28th. Jefferson Starship will headline the 2012 festival. Visit www.abbeyroadontheriver.com to purchase festival tickets, make a reservation at the Galt House Hotel, and get more information.
What is it about these lads that transcends time, crosses generations, and ignites so much universal Love? History simply does not have an art form that parallels this phenomenon. Almost 50 years after the media inserted them in every newspaper and on every radio & tv in every home, they are still on every radio & tv station and in every newspaper, plus now also, on your game device, computer, phone, ipod........and still in every home.
June 06, 2012 marks the 50th anniversary of The Beatles first recording with Pete, and September 04 the redo with Ringo, of Love Me Do at EMI Studios. Abbey Road on the River will celebrate 50 years of Beatles records in Louisville and DC in May and Sept 2012.
