The East Market District is pleased to announce its 4th annual NuLu Festival, featuring a crowd-chosen musical act, in addition to a day of curated live music. The free, family friendly and open-to-the-public block party will take place on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 2 p.m. - 11 p.m. in the 700 block of East Market Street.
The festival, which features “all things local,” will offer live music, a kids’ corner, local food and retail vendors, and a generous selection of micro-brews from The Louisville Beer Store.
New this year, NuLu Fest is hosting a Crowd-Chosen music contest and the winner will be performing at this year’s event. Any original band or musical act can enter to be a contestant in the Crowd-Chosen music contest. Visit our website to enter the Crowd-Chosen contest at http://nulufest.com/crowd-chosen/. Each qualified band or musical act that submits their name online will be entered as a contestant and fans will begin voting for their favorites online on July 2nd, 2012. The winning musical act will be announced on July 20th, 2012 and will play at the 4th annual NuLu Fest!
For the fourth year, NuLu Festival has been named the “Official After-Party” for Louisville’s Idea Festival, a gathering of innovators and thinkers from around the world who discuss and celebrate imagination, new perspectives and transformational ideas. Idea Festival participants will be encouraged to attend the NuLu Festival to enjoy living, working examples of leading edge innovators in the Louisville community.
For more information about the festival, or if you’re interested in becoming a NuLu Festival volunteer, visit www.nulufest.com.
Founded in 2000, the IdeaFestival (IF) is a world-class event that attracts leading and highly diverse thinkers from across the nation and around the globe to explore and celebrate innovation, imagination and cutting-edge ideas.
The IdeaFestival is a unique non-linear event designed to stretch people's horizon's and promote breakthrough thinking... utilizing multiple venues to showcase, discuss and "connect" important ideas in science, the arts, design, business, film, technology, education, etc.
The Festival is designed to appeal to a broad cross-section of people - with presenters selected for their ideas, achievements, and their ability to communicate to a wide-ranging audience.
An important value of the IF is its accessibility. Strong support from sponsors allows the event to be priced at a level (with many events free) that provides for participation by a large and diverse audience, including students and young people.
The Celebration, which is designed to raise awareness and appreciation for Arabian horses, is expected to attract more than 25,000 exhibitors and spectators not only from North America, but from foreign...
