There are two kinds of music. Good music, and the other kind.
A broad range of award-winning musicians will perform on 3 stages within the Clifton Center, giving the audience a variety of intimate venues to experience the music. The all world line-up includes Taj Mahal, Bill Frisell, The Boxcars, Shovels & Rope, Feufollet, Trio Brasileiro, and Zoe Muth and the Lost High Rollers, alongside local artists including Tyrone Cotton, Steve Cooley & Friends, Joe Manning and others. Tickets range from $25 for single day admission to $75 for a full weekend pass, which includes reserved seating for Taj Mahal’s opening night performance. Tickets to music all Clifton Center events can be purchased at cliftoncenter.org or at Carmichael’s Bookstore, 2720 Frankfort Avenue.
From Cajun dance music to hard-driving bluegrass, a jazz guitar legend, one of Brazil’s premier bands, and an Americana duo on the verge of the big time, the Afterbeat Festival features a dizzying array of great music. Genre labels have no place here – only great musicians and great music in a truly unique setting.
The Festival will take advantage of three of the Clifton Center’s unique spaces, including the 500-seat Eifler Theater, and festival goers will have the opportunity to move from one stage to another as the music continues on each stage throughout the evening. The Reception Hall, which many know as the location of the annual Taste of Frankfort Avenue, will feature a casual lounge setting with cabaret-style seating and the Clifton Center’s Frankfort Room will host unplugged performances where the audience will sit alongside the performers for an intimate experience. A cash bar, featuring Bluegrass Brewing Company, and local food will be available throughout the event.
The Afterbeat Festival is sponsored by Cylicron, The Comfy Cow, Brown-Forman, Bluegrass Brewing Company, DD Williamson Co., 91.9 WFPK, LEO, and Heine Brothers. MINI of Louisville provides major support for the Clifton Center’s ongoing concert series.
