FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

at St. Charles Exchange
Monday September 10th, 2012 @ happy hour
(August 28th, 2012. Louisville, KY) James Higdon, author of the best-selling book The Cornbread Mafia, will be at St. Charles Exchange Monday, September 10th. During Higdon’s appearance he will be signing and selling copies of the book and guest bartending behind the historic bar to mix cocktails and mingle with fans.
Higdon’s book, The Cornbread Mafia: A Homegrown Syndicate’s Code of Silence and the Biggest Marijuana Bust in American History, is currently in its fourth printing. Published in April of this year, Cornbread Mafia quickly sparked local and national discussion of the underground marijuana growing sub-culture of Marion County, KY, now notoriously known as the site of the largest marijuana bust in American history. Higdon’s account of the culture of silence, f ederal investigations, aftermath of the raids and subsequent arrests are a fascinating story of events ruminating with local history.
Join Higdon and cocktail sponsor Limestone Branch Distillery as they celebrate the success of Cornbread Mafia at St. Charles Exchange. Featuring libations made with Limestone’s T.J. Pottinger Sugar Shine.
Cornbread Mafia is James Higdon’s first book. He is a graduate of Centre College (’98), Brown University (’00) and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism (’05); he is available for television, newspaper and radio interviews.
