On Saturday, July 14th at 4 PM, Carmichael's will host Judith Jennings, executive director of the Kentucky Foundation for Women, for a signing and discussion of the book she co-edited with Patricia D. Beaver "Helen Matthews Lewis : Living Social Justice in Appalachia," a collection of some of Lewis's best writings documenting her life and work in Appalachia. Jennings will talk about coal and community development and the important role that Helen Matthews Lewis has played in this area of study. Please join us for this compelling event!
