Lights Up: The Summit announces lineup of holiday events, extended hours and seasonal shopping deals
The Summit’s annual holiday kickoff event, Lights Up, returns for its 7th year on Friday, Nov. 16 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The east Louisville shopping center will welcome the most wonderful time of the year with a fireworks display, festive lights, holiday music, live ice carving, balloon animals and an array of children’s activities. Santa Claus will be in attendance to take photos with kids of all ages eager to share their Christmas wishes. The event is free to attend and the first 200 children to bring a donation of a new toy, book or clothing item for the Home of the Innocents will receive a limited edition long-sleeve t-shirt. This year’s event will feature a festival-like atmosphere with holiday music, games for kids, live ice carving and balloon animals. Santa will arrive to kick off the fireworks show and lighting and will take complimentary photos, printed on the spot, with children. Event partners are Gen-X Radio, the Courier-Journal and The Mommy Nest.
