Heartfelt, funky, and just a little bit trippy in the spirit of Donna The Buffalo - an apt description of Raleigh, NC's soul-folk pioneers MILAGRO SAINTS. Originally from NYC, These veterans of the roots music scene have transcended the alt-country crowd from which they sprang to create an Americana flavor that’s deceptively modern. Bright, contemporary and 'cultishly' commercial, Milagro Saints keep it cool and relaxed while managing to conjure up a blissful and exciting sound. Whether it’s the mandolin riffs setting an easygoing roll or a well timed accordion riff at just the right moment, the Saints know how to pay homage to traditional music without being limited by it. On tour in support of their fifth release, Chance and Circumstance, their congenial jam-band vibe and warm-spirited songs grab the ear quickly, serving up some instantly memorable tunes buoyed by richly textured, broad and breezy grooves. From winning a slot in the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival to radio play in Europe to penning the theme song for WFIT's radio show 'Private Radio', the Saints have often drawn comparisons to Fairport Convention and Rusted Root. Their second album's break-out track "Jack Kerouac" landed the band in Lowell, Mass, (the authors's birthplace), on the occasion of the 50th year anniversary of his masterpiece 'On The Road', where the band opened for 10,000 Maniacs. Now that was a party! Articulate and full of imagery, their blend of sweet, rugged folk conjures up Grateful Dead, The Byrds and Neil Young, all with the 'superb tuneful literacy' that has become their trademark. Welcome to the 'Ville, y'all!
