Since July of 1994, the OVER-REACTORS have been shaking up street festivals, municipal concerts, colleges, nightclubs, and bars all over Southern California, the Central California Coast, Nashville, TN, and Louisville, KY. the OVER-REACTORS were nominated "Best Live Acoustic Band" in the 2003 Orange County Music Awards, and as of July 2005 had performed more than 1,000 shows.
the OVER-REACTORS are an electro-acoustic power duo that consist of the wife/husband team of Robin Mitchell - vocals/guitars, and Tom Mitchell - vocals/bass/guitar/percussion. Both are lifetime professional musicians with many album credits for their work as session players and production specialists. Tom was also awarded a Platinum Record for his production assistance on Dokken's "Back For The Attack" album. They have been performing together since they met in 1986.
Robin and Tom share lead vocal duties, and multi-instrumentalist Tom frequently switches between bass, guitar, and hand percussion from one song to the next, so the OVER-REACTORS have a unique sound that is almost "band-like", with far more depth and variety than a typical acoustic duo. And their broad playlist appeals to many different listeners with widely varying musical preferences. It is not unusual to see fans of classic rock, modern rock/alternative, and adult contemporary all together at the same time in the same place enjoying an OVER-REACTORS performance. Their regular shows feature unique arrangements of both classic and current music. Their original songs are also frequently requested by name at venues where they are considered "regulars".
They are currently in pre-production for an album, which will be released by the end of Summer of 2008. Their yet-to-be titled album is being produced by Tom Mitchell of the OVER-REACTORS, and will be mastered in Nashville by mega-platinum producer and long time friend Michael Wagener (producer for X, Metallica, Janet Jackson, Ozzy Osbourne, Dokken, Skid Row, and many other major artists).
