The Louisville Improvisors are offering their Summer Improv Comedy Camp for Teens at the Bard's Town
Louisville Improvisors Artistic Director Chris Anger will be teaching four improv comedy camps for teens this summer.
"Parents of teens often come up to me and say, Chris I'm really worried about my teen. They're hanging out with the wrong crowd, experimenting with sports and other outdoor activities like hiking, or they are riding their bikes aimlessly to the park or the pool and chilling with friends, playing frisbee or God knows what. Or they're in their room spending the whole day online and not saying a word to anyone, and God forbid we lose internet access for 10 minutes -- you'd think the world was coming to an end. At that point they spend the rest of the day running around town looking for a coffee shop with free wi-fi. By the time they get home they're all so jacked up on caffeine and sugar they don't want dinner and they still won't talk to us. All I want is for my child to be happy and for them to learn a skill that will make them the envy of millions. Is that too much to ask?"
The short answer is no, it is not too much to ask.
- June 4-8
- June 25-29
- July 9-13
- August 6-10
These camps are for students from ages 12 through 18. They will learn how to think on their feet, be in the moment, listen to each other, and build on their ideas. Students will use basic improv games, exercises, and scene work to learn how to be spontaneous and playful and how to work well with others.
Each camp will be one week long and run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday. All Classes will be held at The Bard's Town and the cost is $165.00 per session. To enroll or for more information, call Chris Anger at (502)-485-9064, or e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
Depending on enrollment, there is also the possibility of adding more classes.
