Bon Jovi entertained the crowd Friday night at HullabaLOU in Churchill Downs.
Bon Jovi came, performed, and, at least for the first half, practically dominated the first night of the HullabaLOU festival at Churchill Downs. Bon Jovi took to the stage and opened with Lost Highway, getting the fans up and out of their seats and singing along, at least on they hey hey parts.

While throngs of people were in the stands and infield, arguably the finest set at HullabaLOU was happening in the paddock Friday when Dan Tyminski joined The Travelin' McCourys for some bluegrass magic.
This was bluegrass royalty. Plain and simple. In the paddock of Churchill Downs, The Travelin' McCourys and Dan Tyminski performed a splendid 90-minute set Friday at HullabaLOU filled with little fanfare but plenty of musical virtuosity.

A quick glance around HullabaLOU Friday yielded fewer concert t-shirts than Forecastle, but on the bright side, we got some sage advice from Fred Schneider.
"And please don't take handfuls of diet pills." That's what I heard Fred Schneider of The B-52s tell the crowd before he briefly left the
stage while Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson took over vocals duties on their hit
Roam. I have no context to out that quote in, but it sure sounds like...

Soulful New Jersey bar band plays a spirited set that deserved to go on much longer than its 40-minute HullabaLOU limit.
Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes was the first act to
take the main, HullabaLOU stage Friday at the HullabaLOU music festival at
Churchill Downs. And despite the list of famous artists that will come after
them this weekend, they proved to be a tough act to follow.
