Spice up your book club with some fresh reads as Carmichael’s hosts ‘The Cure fo
Louisville’s favorite book sellers will shatter those book club blues (because who doesn’t have ‘em?). Join Carmichael’s and their very merry staff this Monday, August 13th at 7pm for ideas, discussion and, oh yeah, wine.
You will not be required to wear khaki.  There will be no Bundt cakes.  And I can almost guarantee a complete lack of John Grisham.  We all know that book club is something your mom did on Tuesday nights back in the ol’ burbs.  Let’s ponder this wholesome stereotype...

The Red Penguins strike again! The Sarabande Books hosts another round of poets at tonight’s 21c Reading Series. The words will flow this evening starting at 7:30pm.
We are so close.  Hour by hour and day by unbearable day, the march towards Fall and respite from this swampish, sun-laden drudgery of Summer has a tangible end.  The heavy, timberwolf skies of Autumn cast a cool, gray light at the end of this long, blazing tunnel, and my languishing...
