The Louisville Bats took a 1-0 lead in the first round of their Governors’ Cup playoff series against Durham on Wednesday night with an 8-4 win over the Bulls at Louisville Slugger Field. They got a strong start from Chad Reineke and 10 timely hits to take the first game in the best-of-five International League playoff series. The second game of the series is at 6:05 p.m. Thursday night at Slugger Field.

The Louisville Bats lost 5-3 to Indianapolis on Sunday night at Louisville Slugger Field, but still have a chance to win their third division title in a row. That's because Toledo clobbered Columbus 9-1 Sunday. The Clippers lead Louisville by a half-game in the International League West heading into Monday - the final day of the regular season. If the Bats beat the Indians (first pitch is set for 1 p.m.) and the Clippers lose at Toledo (first pitch 1 p.m.), Louisville will win its third West title in a row.
