Its morning: as the sun comes up the ovens burn, ovens like molten hot lava. Imagine works of art from broken pieces, glass that bends and shapes as it is twisted and molded. At the Flame Run Hotshop & Gallery, Tiffany Ackerman - Gallery Director is opening and getting ready for the day, Jake is getting the glass ready as the fires roar and excited children of all ages are sitting over their breakfast in eager anticipation of the chance to help make their piece of blown glass art.
Brooke White’s 13,000 square feet of Flame Run’s Blown Glass Studio is every glass artist dream. It is inviting and inspiring; you can feel energy there and the enthusiasm that Jake exuberates when he gives the education and directions in blowing the glass in absolutely fantastic.

I found equal numbers of glass artists creating jewelry and selling pipes. Go ahead and guess what sold better.
This year's Forecastle Festival was full of two kinds of glass art. Both were meant to be enjoyed from the neck up. First, we had plenty of people eager for me to take photos of their necklaces and earrings.
