The Louisville Bats took a 1-0 lead in the first round of their Governors’ Cup playoff series against Durham on Wednesday night with an 8-4 win over the Bulls at Louisville Slugger Field. They got a strong start from Chad Reineke and 10 timely hits to take the first game in the best-of-five International League playoff series. The second game of the series is at 6:05 p.m. Thursday night at Slugger Field.

The Louisville Bats won a game, beating the Indianapolis Indians 6-3 at Louisville Slugger Field, and also won their third straight International League West title Monday afternoon thanks to Toledo’s 5-2 win over Columbus on the final day of the IL regular season.
