In an effort to promote off the track Thoroughbred adoptions the Thoroughbred Horse Show Association offers owners of off the track Jockey Club Registered Thoroughbreds horse shows to give these horses valuable show experience in their second careers. These shows also highlight the versatility and athleticism of the breed to promote adoptions at facilities that work with retired racehorses in getting them adopted into new homes and second careers.
The Thoroughbred Horse Show Association was created to develop horse shows exclusively for Jockey Club registered Thoroughbreds. These shows are designed to showcase the versatility of the breed and its competitive spirit in their second careers after retiring from racing.

The Kentucky Horse Park is the only equestrian venue in North America, including those in Canada and Mexico, that had three horse shows make it into the top 25 horse shows in North America as ranked by NARG.
