Just because he wrote in flowery, poetic language doesn't mean that William Shakespeare didn't understand that times can be tough. The local theatre group closes out their season with their "old west" version of As You Like It.
Once you get past all the majesty and mastery of Shakepeare's style (which, lets face it, gets in the way of the story for most readers) it seems he always had a pretty good pulse of the day.  This story about people finding love despite financial troubles caused by political double-crossing...
