After taking two of the first three games from the division-leading Columbus Clippers, the Louisville Bats look serious about making a run for 1st place in the season's second half.
After an impressive Independence Day duel with the Clippers that ended in a walk-off 13th inning victory for the Bats and a dominating performance Tuesday night, the Bats will try and sweep the 1st place Clippers tonight at Slugger Field.

The Louisville Bats, the three-time defending International League West champs, will open defense of their division title on April 7 against the Toledo Mud Hens. That is one of several highlights of their 2011 schedule, which was released Monday.

The host Indianapolis Indians scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally for a 4-2 victory over the Louisville Bats on Sunday afternoon. However despite the loss Louisville maintained its half-game lead over Columbus in the International League West because the Clippers lost to Toledo on Sunday evening.
