The Louisville Bats, the three-time defending International League West champs, will open defense of their division title on April 7 against the Toledo Mud Hens. That is one of several highlights of their 2011 schedule, which was released Monday.

The host Indianapolis Indians scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally for a 4-2 victory over the Louisville Bats on Sunday afternoon. However despite the loss Louisville maintained its half-game lead over Columbus in the International League West because the Clippers lost to Toledo on Sunday evening.

In his second rehab starter Aaron Harang was rocked for six earned runs and nine hits in six innings as the Syracuse Chiefs beat the Louisville 8-1 Friday night to end the Bats' franchise-best 14-game winning streak at Louisville Slugger Field. Despite the loss, though, Louisville remains just a half-game behind Columbus in the International League West.

One night after hitting a walk-off, grand slam in his Triple-A debut to beat Syracuse, catcher Devin Mesoraco (left) hit a second-inning granny to lead Louisville to a 6-2 victory over the Chiefs on Thursday night at Louisville Slugger Field. In their first home game since Aug. 8 the Louisville Bats extended their franchise-record home winning streak to 12 games with an 8-5 victory over Syracuse on Tuesday night.
