Come see 600 pounds of Hope, new at the zoo!
A 16 year-old world traveler has taken up residence at the Louisville Zoo.  If you've visited recently you may have already seen her. Hope, a 600 pound pygmy hippopotamus has taken her place in the habitat in the Gorilla Forest.  She joins 17 year-old Maji Kitoto, the Zoo...

Polar Bears, waterfront music, and bonsai--oh my!
The on-set of Derby season is in full-gear, but if you are not into the ponies and bourbon, never fear--there are actually a few things for families happening this week. Hopefully the rain will subside and families can once again celebrate spring with a few of the activities below.

Zoo Poopy Doo sale
It's just about Earth Day, and that means the Louisville Zoo is once again putting up poop for sale. But, it is the best kind of poop--the composted kind! Compost is key in reducing erosion, increasing water retainment, and enriching the soil in gardens and yards.
