And while this year’s collection feels a bit stale, I have seen only a small portion of it in person. Over the years Kentucky Derby hats have gotten progressively larger and more elaborate. While we certainly saw this trend continue at the 137th running of the Kentucky Derby we also saw another trend emerge: the fascinator.

Day 1 of the Breeders' Cup brought out a few celebrities. But unlike Derby, where it seems every C-lister shows up in a minidress and giant hat (looking at you Johnny Weir), these celebs were all directly connected to the event itself.
